The Grand Circle Tour
Colchagua Wine Country
Ease into your Patagonia experience with a tour of the wine country just south of Santiago and learn why Chilean wines are quickly earning a reputation of being some of the finest in the world. Historical Santa Cruz lies in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, one of the richest agricultural regions of the country and was acclaimed in 2005 as the world’s best wine region.* Eves takes you to various wineries with long family traditions where you meet the owners and taste to your palette’s content. Elegant colonial accommodations at Hotel Santa Cruz feature an in-house museum with Chilean art, stained glass and an antique car collection.

Eclectic, yes, and warm and friendly too - a perfect introduction to the laid back Chilean culture and lifestyle.

Huilo Huilo, Chilean Lake District
Privately owned by Chilean businessman Victor Peterman, Huilo Huilo has rain forests, volcanoes, rivers, waterfalls and mountains to explore. Eves has teamed with Christian Labra ña, a Chilean he met while Labrana was working as a raft guide in Vail. Eves helped him set up his own rafting and trekking company in Chile, Expediciones Rucapillán, and they now collaborate to provide intimate, top-notch adventure excursions for Adventura Patagonia guests.

Raft incredible azure rivers, from easy family floats to raucous rapids; fish bountiful mountain lakes, mountain bike, hike, horseback ride or glide through layers of green on a forest canopy zip-line, from a children’s line just 10 feet off the ground to the longest, highest zip-line in South America. Choose accommodations like the famed Montaña Mágica Hotel – shaped like a volcano, with water cascading down all sides of the cone – or the fantastic Tree House Hotel (think Swiss Family Robinson only with walls and four-star dining), or a quaint Bed and Breakfast where you awaken each morning to the aroma of fresh-baked bread.

Argentine Lake District
With national parks, expansive lakes brimming with trout, dramatic peaks, and sophisticated shopping and dining, the Argentine side of the Lake District appeals to those looking for adventure, night-life, or the quiet embrace of the natural world.

St. Martin de Los Andes and San Carlos de Bariloche are known for their world-class skiing, excellent museums, extensive shopping, incredible steaks and delicious chocolate. The wilderness is only a short jaunt from the resort towns and Adventura Patagonia caters to all whims, with unique boat trips, guided fly-fishing, superb shopping and dining tips, and exclusive, private accommodations off the beaten path.

The Great Futaleufu River
Adventura Patagonia can easily connect whitewater enthusiasts to the remote and mighty Futaleufu River, one of the largest undammed rivers in the world. A kayaker’s paradise, the “Fu” plunges through narrow canyons and deep forests, with Class III to Class V rapids in the runnable sections. Here, Expediciones Chile is Eves’ connection for the safest rafting (yes, people die regularly on this river), and perhaps the sweetest kayaking outpost on the planet. Run by former U.S. Olympic kayaker Chris Spelius, Ex Chile also provides alternative activities for those less inclined toward whitewater thrills – everything from horseback treks to remote, family homesteads, to a five day sea-kayak excursion from the Andes to the Pacific Ocean.

Isla Jechica
One of Aventura Patagonia’s most exclusive destinations, Isla Jechica is truly a hidden gem in the Chilean archipelago. Arriving under sail via launch, you feel like an early explorer, discovering these islands for the first time as you navigate the waterways, bound for tiny Isla Jechica. This emerald isle magically opens her secrets to those who come to receive. Because Adventura Patagonia takes no more than a handful of visitors at a time to Isla Jechica, each person can enjoy being intimately connected with the subtle beauty and peace of the island. Sea kayak Jechica’s inlets and shores in the company of dolphins, penguins and cormorants. Hike through ancient forests and spongy marshes. Return for a soak in the wood-fired hot-tub, followed by an elegantly prepared and presented dinner, and then retreat to off-the-grid luxury in your private cabin, tucked into the forest among blooming fuchsia.

Like a siren, Isla Jechica easily holds visitors under her spell, and is an ideal stop for anyone wanting to completely escape the world.

Southern Patagonia
In an area where transportation can be a challenge, Adventura Patagonia is well-connected to set up a tour of southern Patagonia. Here, the most well-known attraction is Torres del Paine National Park, and it is a magnificent treasure –granite and metamorphic mountains thrusting upward from the pampas, blanketed with blue glaciers and surrounded by milky-turquoise glacial lakes.

Torres is spectacular and certainly worth a visit, but logistics can be tricky which is where Adventura Patagonia can help. Eves will hook you up with guides to show you some of the best-kept secrets of southern Patagonia.

Staying in Puerto Natales at the fabulous Hotel Remota is one way to see as much as possible. Remota, a Conde Naste “Hot Hotel of 2006”, prides itself in having a cadre of the most knowledgeable guides in the area, and is leading the way in developing winter (our summer) tourism as well as their unique summer offerings. For the budget-minded traveler, Adventura Patagonia has a range of good Bed and Breakfast connections too.

Trekking and boating are the best ways to explore the spectacular mountains and glacial fjords, while mountain biking and horseback rides offer a way to experience the wild, expansive nature of this country at the bottom of the world. A trip to one of the penguin colonies is a delight, and Eves can arrange remote camping and whale watching excursions as well.

With Adventura Patagonia, Eric Eves has turned a dream into a reality, and is living the destiny he realized as a boy of sixteen while backpacking in Chile.

“Adventura Patagonia is driven by my passion for Chile and Patagonia, and it is fueled by my desire to share this wonderful place with others,” Eves explained about the philosophy of his company.

“My promise to my guests is that the only difficult thing about going to Patagonia will be having to leave it.”
